This Labor Day weekend wedding in Marin County was held on a particularly warm Indian Summer day under clear skies. The church ceremony in the St. Vincent School for Boys was elegant and cool, creating a delightful contrast to the outdoor reception on the veranda. The party was a large, happy, informal, boisterous family celebration with lots of kids. The bride loved purple, so we built the entire event around that bold idea… purple panache!
We combined raspberry and orange dahlias, white and purple lisianthus, white and orange roses, sweet peas, white and purple freesias, daisies and purple scabiosa to create simple bursts of color on the tables. The flower girls carried simple white daisies, and the bridal bouquets were glorious bundles of vivid purple lisianthus, white roses and purple and white freesias. Vivid purple linen tablecloths on the big round tables were accented with white napkins and cushioned chairs. You could feel the love in the informal, gregarious setting—like a good old Italian family reunion.
