This couple sought a unique San Francisco experience for their wedding that was both sophisticated and inviting. The location itself – the de Young Museum in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park – offered so many possibilities for designing an event that would both surprise and delight. The outdoor ceremony was exquisite, framed by the huge trees and the filtered, misty sunlight that is the hallmark of San Francisco summers. Inside the museum, in the gallery and observation tower, we created a family style experience with long tables and an abundance of food.
The wedding flowers were simple, clean and understated. Working with a selection of primarily white flowers and accents of yellow – dahlias, geraniums, roses and jasmine – we assembled loose, organic bouquets for the bridal party. Large standing wooden urns framed the ceremony, overflowing with greenery, jasmine, and splashes of brilliant orange dahlias – the bride loved dahlias! Orange dahlias in white vases made gorgeous centerpieces and accents on the wedding cake and buffet tables.
